Another Teen Milestone

I'm taking Kiddo to open her own bank account with her first paycheck.
How would you propose to earmark teen funds?
Some for blowing?
Some to stash for college?
Some to save for gas money?
I think it's wise to ask her opinion, too. She's old enough to have her own ideas. She earned it. I just need to give a gentle nudge, some guidance.
If she were to blow it all out of proportion, telling me she's buying CDs and DVDs and dinner for the boyfriend, then I'd stop her in her tracks.

Have you guessed my parenting theme that threads it's way through all my teen posts? Teach them not to make the mistakes we did. That still leaves plenty of room for them to make their own, right?
