Free Raleigh, NC Getaway

When we lived in South Carolina, we were very near the North Carolina border. Our weekend getaways would consist of bottles of water, a picnic lunch, binoculars, camera, walking shoes and jackets. (One of the things on your life's "to do" list should be to take a driving tour though the Pisgah Forest.) There are many places where a two lane road will widen for a drive off.
Pull over at a scenic spot and commune with nature. For us, few other landscapes are as breathtaking.
